Thuthuka Mthembu is a talented South African actress, creative and emerging speaker, best known for her role as Nonka on SABC1’s hit television drama Uzalo. She has also expanded her acting career through eHostela, where her performance earned her a Best Actress nomination at the Simon “Mabhunu” Sabela KZN Film and Television Awards.
An AFDA graduate, Thuthuka represents a new generation of African creatives building meaningful careers in the entertainment industry. Her journey reflects talent, discipline, continuous learning and the courage to embrace new opportunities.

Her leadership journey later took her to the National Assembly, where she served as Chairperson of Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Higher Education, Science and Technology. She is also the founder of the Yenza Foundation and has served in leadership structures including the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation.
An experienced keynote speaker and panellist, Nompendulo has contributed to high-level platforms focused on education, leadership, innovation, active citizenship and Africa’s development.
